I use a very simple technique for calming my nerves and replenishing my energy.
Whenever I have had a trying day and need more energy and less stress, I meditate and pray.
It may sound corny but it really works wonders. The key to a great meditation session is focus.
It takes very little time to achieve remarkable results. In fact, I can get energized in about 10 minutes.
Here is what I do:
1. Lay down and close my eyes.
2. Take 3-5 very deep breaths and relax my muscles.
3. Remember as far back as my mind will take me; for me it is when I am 3 years old at our home in Jefferson City, Missouri
4. Think of a very pleasant moment...playing with toys, hugging my mother, being half-asleep and carried off to bed by my father, watching dust floating in the sunlight...etc.
5. Try to actually feel the moment and the sensations, really concentrate on bringing the moment into reality...focus is all important.
6. Pray while meditating and thank God for all the blessings he has given. I remind myself that God is our Eternal Father and he takes care of me just like my earthly father, only perfectly.
7. Take 3-5 more deep breaths and open my eyes as wide as I can...and say a big thank you.
Makes me feel like a new man and ready for more!
You can use your mind to control your inner peace. The things of this world are just things.
Your spirit is everything!

When things get really stressful I remember what my friend says, "in a hundred years it won't matter anyway".
That simple saying puts things in the proper perspective.
We are only in this world a short time...RELAX and enjoy it.
